Art and Design: Photography

Overview of the course

AS/A2 Photography is a course that will teach aspiring photographers about photography as an expressive art form and how to analyse a photo. You will learn about the importance of the photograph as not just a medium of recording but also as a form of communication. You will be given the opportunity to produce photographs that are visually interesting, through the exploration of both darkroom and digital processes. This course is extremely practical and challenging but it is also theoretical and you will undertake lessons in contextual awareness in order to help you enhance analytical skills. If you are a creative, self-motivated and independent person who likes a challenge, then this is the course for you. Students who follow other A Level courses in Fine Art and Graphic Communication would be particularly suited to this course.
